Lowrance Ghost Prop Nut

Lowrance Ghost Prop Nut
By J-Remy05

I wanted a way to quickly and easily remove the prop on my Ghost trolling motor, but I didn’t want/need a big aluminum nut.

There are two versions, one that uses the original hardware on the trolling motor, and one that does not use the nut that comes with the trolling motor (the “No Nut” version). Install is easier if you tap the threads first (M10x1.5), but is not necessary.

Installation – To install the No Nut version, just remove the lock-nut on the prop and install this nut instead. For the other version, loosen the nut until the motor shaft threads are no longer protruding from the end of the nut, then push this nut on and then use it to tighten the lock-nut, while continuing to apply pressure to ensure the shaft threads engage with this nut. Fully tighten and inspect before attempting to use. Optional – Removing the raised Lowrance logo on the prop will help the nut sit flatter on the top of the prop, but it not necessary.

Notes: I have installed both versions, but have not tested them on the water, yet, but will update once I have.
