With that in mind, we’re publishing weekly updates on the latest 3D printer projects on Kickstarter and elsewhere. This is a summary of the many campaigns and projects that launch every week. And if you see any that you think are worth talking about, let us know in the comments, and we’ll consider it for inclusion.

Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #1: D2K Plus – DLP 3D Printer (New/Funded)
Pitch: “Large build volume – 2K resolution – soonest delivery in May, 2017”
Rewards: You still have time to receive the super early bird option. Pledge HK$ 12,624 or more (around $1,630) and you can receive one D2K Plus 3D Printer and a liter of white resin.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: In 2016, the D2K Illuminate 3D Printer was funded. Now the makers have launched the Plus version. The benefits of this printer is that it has a larger build volume (hence the name), Wi-fi connectivity and a solid metal body. It’s now fully funded. According to the makers, the delivery could begin as soon as May.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #2: Moai – SLA 3D printer (New/Funded)
Pitch: “Get amazing details and smooth finishes with a class-leading 70-micron laser spot size. Perfect for jewelers, artists, dentists, makers.”
Rewards: With only two rewards still available, you can choose from the $1,000 option for this SLA 3D printer. For this, you’ll receive one Moai kit and a liter of Moai resin. And for $1,800, you can receive two printers.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: This printer promises to be an affordable SLA printer which you can use from home. By backing the Moai, you can start printing in high resolution without a hefty price tag. That is if they can deliver by June.
Indiegogo 3D Printer Project #3: T-1000 – SLA 3D Printer (New)
Pitch: “T-1000 is a high quality, large build volume 3D Printer at the best value. Self-leveling vat system!”
Rewards: If you want to back this SLA 3D printer, you pay $1900 on Indiegogo. The printer is already finished, the company promises to send it out in April as soon as the campaign ends.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: The company “Global 3D Systems” is based in Manila, Philipines. The company also offers 3D printing, 3D design and 3D scanning services for the region.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #4: BioPETG: Eco-Friendly PETG Filament (New)
Pitch: “3D Printlife wants to bring you BioPETG. A premium PETG filament that will also degrade in a commercial compost or an active landfill.”
Rewards: There are many different rewards on offer, but for a 100g coil of BioPETG, you need pledge $10 or more.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: PETG is the most commonly used plastic in the world and it is one of the easiest to recycle, but it isn’t biodegradable. The company claims to have found a way to make it eco-friendly.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #5: Wiivv Custom Fit Sandals (New)
Pitch: “The world’s first Custom Fit Sandals, digitally mapped from your smartphone. Biomechanically enhanced, 3D printed and assembled in USA.”
Rewards: Pledge $70 or more and you can receive one early bird pair of Wiivv custom fit sandals. This is a great deal as the shoes have a value of $95. The more money you spend, the more Wiivv shoes you can receive ready for summer. There is also free shipping of Wiivv offered in the USA.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: Wiivv want to make it possible for you to receive custom footwear which actually fit your feet while also being affordable. You may remember the company’s Base Kickstarter campaign which was the most funded 3D printed good showing they’ve definitely found a hole in the market.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #6: MONO1 – High resolution affordable 3D resin printer (New)
Pitch: “Down to 24 microns high-resolution prints just for $749!”
Rewards: For a fully assembled Mono1, you’ll need to pledge $1,799 or more. For this, you’ll receive your printer, a 1080p DLP projector (Optoma HD37 or equivalent, mods per request) and a copy of MonoWare software. As well as this, you’ll receive one additional resin vat and one additional build platform. However, bear in mind that they only ship to US domestic addresses.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: The makers of this project promise that there is a low risk associated with pledging as the Mono1 has already been troubleshooted. They also add that their printers were completed in February 2017, but now they require pre-orders to bring down the volume pricing.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #7: Snapmaker – Multi-Purpose 3D Printer (Funded)
Pitch: “Turn your desktop into a workshop. You can easily do 3D printing, laser engraving, and CNC carving.”
Rewards: With all of the early bird options gone, you’ll have to pledge $299 or more in order to receive a Snapmaker. With this 3D printer, you’ll receive a heated, self-leveling bed and touchscreen as well as a 0.5kg spool of 1.75mm filament. You can pledge more to receive either a CNC module or laser. The maxed out version with CNC carving and laser engraving tool will set you back $439.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: This printer has already smashed its modest funding goal. No wonder, at that price it seems to be way ahead of its competition. The campaign appears professional and well put together. The company also promises to already have manufacturing suppliers ready, but is that enough to deliver to over 1,000 people? Also, for this kind of money, it’s not very likely you will get the best components available on the market. Still a highly interesting all-in-one 3D printer.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #8: Zimpure – Filtering solution for 3D Printers (Funded)
Pitch: “The first fully compatible, effective, plug-and-play and affordable filtering solution for your 3D printers.”
Rewards: Although the super early bird option has now gone, you must spend €119 to receive the early bird option. With this, you’ll receive one Zimpure, ready to clean. The more money you spend, the more Zimpure you can receive – simple as that.

Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #9: Milkshake3D – SLA 3D Printer (Funded)
Pitch: “Large SLA top down 3D printing, highest stability, fast and high resolution. Web control on all os & mobile devices.”
Rewards: For the early bird option, you need to pledge HK$ 27,060 ($3500) or more to receive a Milkshake3D Printer, 2 Containers, 2 FTD IB/ Mocha and a cleaning Kit. However, make sure to check out the shipping information before pledging.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: This project is already close to reaching its funding goal. The SLA top down-printer, designed with 3D artists in mind, offers high resolution 3D prints. The example prints are certainly very interesting to peruse. The Orbi Lab team promise to bring industrial-grade printing to an artist’s studio. It’s directly competing with the Formlabs Form 2.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #10: LittleArm Big – Arduino Robot Arm (Funded)
Pitch: “A 3D printed desktop robotic arm, based on Arduino, for hobbyists and education at all levels.”
Rewards: The currently remaining early bird option will set you back $159. This is a fully assembled LittleArm Big – all you need to do is plug it in and use the free desktop app. For $119, you can receive the whole kit but will need to assemble it yourself. For $95, you’ll get all the electronics and the STL files for 3D printing.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: This project is already funded, is also a project “loved by Kickstarter”. Slant, the company behind this project, have been working on robots for education for the past two years. The LittleBig Arm is aimed at upper-level education but can be used for a range of purposes.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #11: T3TRA – Designer loudspeakers
Pitch: “T3TRA – 3D printed & digitally made speakers are a refreshing take on the speaker box – classic or Bluetooth. Made in California.”
Rewards: Pledge now and you can receive the “T3TRA Active One Early Bird” option. If you pledge $155 or more and receive the speaker with Bluetooth. Choose from either red, orange or green. You’ll be saving $44 compared to expected retail price.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: T3TRA is an audio designed speaker by Alienology Audio. With a modest funding goal, it looks like the makers are well on their way to having a successful campaign.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #12: TimeSlider – Motion for Camera
Pitch: “Designed to take your camera where it needs to go; TimeSlider is a modular, open-source time-lapse slider with interlocking tracks.”
Rewards: To receive the TimeSlider, you need to pledge €150 or more. However, you can spend up to $1,000 or more with the Timeslider Limited Kickstarter Special. This will include a TimeSlider in any color on a straight or curved track. It will also have 6 feet, 2 rolling bags, and a TimeSlider Hardcase. There are also many offers in between these two.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: TimeSlider claim to be the future of time-lapse motion. The device can help create better motion for cameras and also uses recycled plastics and 3D printing.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #13: 3D Figurines by 3DyourBody
Pitch: “We want to immortalize your lovely family, friends, pets or special moments in a hyper-realistic and marvelously detailed 3D-Figurines.”
Rewards: The campaign offers three different types of rewards. First is a 3D scan of your body – you’ll get the raw data for $65. Starting from $30, you can get a reprint of a 3D printed figurine, if you already have the data. Lastly, you can have your mini-me starting from $89. The scans can be made in Berlin, Rostock, and Dresden, all in Germany.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: 3D Your Body is a German business which you’re already able to visit in their stores. It appears they are trying to increase interest in their services through this campaign. If you live in one of the German cities they provide their services in, this could be the opportunity to get a 3D printed figurine for less.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #14: STACKER S2 Industrial Grade 3D Printer (Funded)
Pitch: “The S2 is an Industrial Grade 3D Printer designed for the Education, Manufacturing, and Professional Markets.”
Rewards: With two early bird options already gone, you’ll have to settle for the third early bird option for $5,995. This includes a STACKER s2 Industrial Grade 3D printer as well as two rolls of ColorFabb filament. You’ll also receive a user license for Simplify3D. If you miss out on the early bird option, you’ll need to choose the Super Saver option instead.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: In 2015, Stacker created a “new kind of commercial 3D printer.” The received funding from Kickstarter and successfully shipped the rewards. The company now starts funding its second iteration called “Stacker S2”. Thanks to the two heads attached, the printer’s able to produce two identical objects in one go. The company is mainly asking for help to speed up production of the printer. Even for this very high price, this FDM printer has already reached 205% funding. You might have to be quick to snap one up for a reasonable price.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #15: World’s First 3D Printed Castle
Pitch: “Ever heard of 3D printers? Now it’s possible to 3D print castles using concrete! We want to try and build a replica of Dracula’s Castle.”
Rewards: Pledge $40 or more and you will receive a mini 3D printed castle. If you pledge $100 or more, you can become a Medieval Founder and have your name engraved on one of the castle walls. Spend $500 and you can spend one free night at the castle once it is built, two nights for $1,000. For $7,500 you can receive 20 nights in the castle for free and you will be designated as a Lord of the Castle.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: If completed, the aim is to 3D print a replica of Dracula’s castle in Washington State’s wine country. Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #16: The TITAN Pen
Pitch: “3D printed titanium ball point pen, with unique internal bolt mechanism. Also available in nylon – only on Kickstarter!”
Rewards: With the early bird options already gone, your only choice is between spending £24 or more for a second batch prototype edition pen or £149 or more for a Titan edition pen.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: This pen would be near impossible to manufacture using traditional methods making it a unique writing tool. You can also have your name added. Mike Smoothy is the creator of this campaign and has already brought two Kickstarter pen projects to fruition; it now looks set to be three.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #17: Realistic Horns and Ears Costuming
Pitch: “Lightweight, realistic horns and ears 3D printed for your cosplay and fursuit needs.”
Rewards: Pledges begin at just $10. For this, you’ll receive small, unpainted troll horn clips. Pledge $30, and you’ll receive deer ears and a headband. For $40, you can receive Ibex horns and a headband. The top tier is just $45, and for this, you’ll receive ram horns and a headband.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: Using an adjustable headband, you can attach whichever horns you prefer and add an additional aspect to your cosplay costume. This is now the third revision of the design as makers Poisonalacarte have been making them for three years now.
Kickstarter 3D Printer Project #18: 3D Printing Medical Devices in Africa
Pitch: “3D printing allows designers to think beyond old manufacturing boundaries and create products that can save lives, time, and money.”
Rewards: Pledge $250 or more and you can receive a working 3D printed fetalscope design that is being tested in the field now in Tanzania. Pledge $500 or more, and you can receive a 3D printer waterscope microscope capable of malaria diagnosis. These are currently in printing.

Comments on this Kickstarter 3D Printer Project: Voices of Africa Foundation began 3D printing medical prototypes and recently won a grant of $30,000. However, they now want to go further. This grant doesn’t cover the expenses of the entire project so they’re asking for money through Kickstarter to help create a safe space where the public can access and learn about 3D printing. The printers are being used to create medical devices which certainly is a pretty awesome idea.
IndieGoGo 3D Printer Project #19: TapTop – The 3D Printed Glass Bottle Cutter
Pitch: “Recycle your bottles with style. Save the world by cutting those beautiful glass bottles!”
Rewards: You have three pledge options from $39 to $55 depending on whether you catch the super early bird or the early bird.

Comments on this Indiegogo 3D Printer Project: TapTop wants to reduce trash by creating “functionality, sense, and style… all in one.” The TapTop is completely 3D printed and made of organic PLA.
